Chopped '34 3W, blown hemi , now a 409. Jan 14

Well, stuff is drying and curing on my other 18 builds, so I thought I'd chop the horrible AMT early issue '34 Ford 3 window. I've wanted to do it for a while, as the body shell is really the only good part of the kit. The chassis is very bad, the front fenders and nose are wrong, wrong, wrong, and there's even stuff wrong with the main shell. I decided to do the layback-style chop on this one. It's similar to the chop on the Flintstone lakes-style body. Because the windshield pillars get layed back a bunch, the roof doesn't need to be lengthened, as is usual. Once I roughed in the chop, some playing in the parts stash resulted in this.

It's a very different style of chop, compared to my purple in-progress track-nose car. It almost looks like a '36, to me. This one is sitting on the current AMT '34 5-window chassis. Engine's from the Fiat double dragster kit, with blower, injectors and scoop from the stash. Grille and shell are from the Revell '37 pickup. Rear wheels and tires are Monogram sprint-car. Front wheels will be something other than steelies.

Anybody wants to see the chop shots, let me know and I'll post them.

Frame's going to have to be Zeed to get this stance. I think I can get the front at this height with a dropped axle, hopefully no custom scratched mounts, crossmembers, etc. Maybe I can actually finish this one relatively quickly.
