1953 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop

Hey Guys... I'm back after another delay.  The end of the real car touring season is going to see me putting the two old Chevies away for the winter, and launch myself back into the 1:24 scale projects.  I decided I was going to go easy on myself this time, and just do a box stock build.  One thing led to another, and I've spent some time jazzing it up a bit!

The kit is the Monogram '53 Chevy.  I think that the body is fairly accurate, but I'm going to do some upgrades under the hood.  The firewall and fender wells are really lacking in detail, as well as the vent/heater ducts and battery.  I cut all of it out, and swapped in these parts from an AMT '51 Fleetline.  I am going to do the paint to match a Sunstar Diecast that I have.  I'm using Tamiya Intermediate Blue... a little too dark, but close.  The top and fender trim will be Wimbledon White.  Here's where I'm at...

This is the diecast... I'm building a model of my model!
